KAJOS
Kajos is a powerful Nordic Folk ensemble whose music draws inspiration from Finnish–Karelian mythology and the formidable force of nature. In the band’s sound, primal and mystical vocal expression, emotive cello playing, imposing beats, improvisation, ancient chants, and cinematic soundscapes intertwine to create an immersive whole that seems to stop time itself. Kajos’s debut single “Nouse Lempi”, released in the summer of 2025, has attracted significant worldwide interest. Within four months, the single was streamed over 50,000 times in 70 different countries, and it has been featured on both Finnish and international radio programs. The group has previously performed at events such as Iron Age Birckala, Pakanafestarit, Heinävesi Ancient Weeks, and OutoValo Festival.
In 2021, Kajos collaborated with the metal band HARMS, appearing on their single “Towards the Sixth End”. The members of the ensemble are seasoned music professionals with extensive background. Sini Koskelainen is an award-winning singer-composer whose music has been featured in television series such as Game of Thrones (USA) and Wentworth (AUS). Koskelainen has toured in 35 different countries and is known from the vocal group Tuuletar. Susanna Syrjäläinen is a genre-defying cellist whose playing has been heard both in symphony orchestras and, for example, at the techno music event Unelmien sielunmessu, as well as on Viitasen Piia’s album “Ihmisen aika”.
