SWALLOW THE SUN

Blending melodic doom and death metal, Swallow The Sun is one of the greatest treasures of Finnish metal. Founded in 2000 by guitarist and songwriter Juha Raivio, the band is internationally recognized as one of the leading names in its genre. Swallow The Sun’s latest album “Shining”, released in October 2024, was produced and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me the Horizon, Muse, Enter Shikari), mastered by Tony Lindgren (Fascination Street Studios), and recorded by Juho Räihä (SoundSpiral Audio). “Shining” was awarded the Emma Award for Metal Album of the Year at the highly coveted Emma Gala.

Juha Raivio commented on the album’s release:“It feels almost surreal to release one of our best and boldest records after 24 years of the band’s existence. Like an icicle through a sleeping heart. A sunrise in the night sky. Horns and halos. Shining dark.”

2025 has been a busy year for Swallow The Sun. In the spring, the band embarked on extensive tours in North America and Central Europe. After their summer festival shows, Swallow The Sun played a highly praised 25th-anniversary concert at Helsinki Juhlaviikot Huvila tent. Their autumn 2025 tours in Japan and the British Isles will continue in early 2026 with a tour in Australia.
