THE COUPLE CHOSEN FOR KARHU’S TUSKA WEDDING

Our main partner, Karhu, sought an adventurous couple this spring who would be ready to tie the knot at Tuska this summer, accompanied by heavy music. The wedding will take place on the festival’s opening day, Friday, June 28, in the Karhu Kappeli at the Karhu Kotakylä area. A total of 28 couples applied, all impressing the jury with their touching love stories and bold life attitudes.

“The large number of applications and the couples’ daring spirit exceeded all our expectations. Reading the applications and watching the presentation videos brought tears to our eyes many times and made our hearts flutter. Choosing among so many good candidates was difficult, but in the end, our jury was quite unanimous,” says Elli Karppinen, Karhu’s Senior Brand Manager at Sinebrychoff.

The chosen couple is 39-year-old Minna Lohikoski and 41-year-old Lasse Kosonen from Hämeenkyrö, who have been together for just over three years. The metal music-loving couple, who got engaged six months ago, had dreamed of organizing a wedding that reflected their style, and a wedding ceremony at Tuska seemed like the perfect choice.

“This combines everything we want from our wedding. Different, memorable, together with friends, music, and lots of fun! We are so happy to have been chosen. Minna is the love of my life,” rejoices the groom, Lasse Kosonen.

The bride, Minna Lohikoski, agrees: “Tuska-wedding is so us, we get to break traditions in a good way. The funny thing is, neither of us has ever been to Tuska before, but now we’re getting married there! Music, concerts, and festivals are important to both of us and things that connect us – we already had Tuska tickets on our shopping list for this summer. I love that Lasse knows how to seize the moment and dive into our visions and projects.”

Karhu offers the couple, among other things, VIP tickets to Tuska for three days, a small celebration with toasts and cake after the wedding ceremony at the Karhu Kappeli and a wedding photo shoot. Additionally, the couple’s close friends will receive day tickets to the festival for Tuska Friday.

“Despite the dark exterior, the Tuska crowd is full of kind-hearted people, so I’m not really surprised that so many wedding-dreaming couples applied. It’s wonderful to celebrate Minna and Lasse’s love at this summer’s festival together with Karhu – a warm welcome to Tuska,” comments Tuska Festival Director Eeka Mäkynen.
