Saturday sold out, once again drawing 23 000 visitors
There we go: sold-out Friday was followed by a sold-out Saturday. Helped by Bad Omens’ first-ever Helsinki show, 23 000 visitors made their way to Tuska in the sweltering heat.
On the Karhu Main Stage, one of the hottest metalcore bands of the moment, The Plot In You, filled the main field to capacity, as did metalcore pioneers Trivium and the evening’s headliner Bad Omens. Their vocalist Noah Sebastian wrapped the audience around his little finger, and the band’s incredibly spectacular show fulfilled years of anticipation for many fans.
The Radio City Stage tent offered much-needed shelter from the heat, where Finland’s doom ambassadors Swallow The Sun delivered a calm and elegant hour, and Rivers of Nihil represented the absolute elite of technical death metal.
On the Nordic Energy Stage, the unstoppable deathcore of Paleface Swiss and the crushing, hardcore-driven assault and bulldozer-sized riffs of American powerhouse Kublai Khan TX pushed energy levels dangerously close to the maximum.
The indoor KVLT stage at Tivistämö brought no relief from the heat, quite the opposite. Sweat was dripping from the ceiling as Denmark’s modern heavy metal/shoegaze trio 802 and Finnish death metal acts Survivors Zero and Omnivortex cranked things into high gear.
Two fantastic days are behind us, and the weekend’s grand finale is still ahead, as Bring Me The Horizon, Amorphis, and Stam1na, among others, will take the stage in Suvilahti.
One more time tomorrow!
