French post black metal / black gaze trailblazer Alcest will be performing at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki on November 27th. The show in Helsinki is a part of the tour supporting Alcest’s new “Les Chants de l’Aurore” album.

Alcest started in 2000 as the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Stéphane “Neige” Paut. These days the core of the band is formed by Neige and drummer Jean “Winterhalter” Deflandre, and in a live situation, the line-up is supplemented by touring musicians.

Alcest’s musical expression has evolved from the raw black metal of the early days to the current form of stylish black gaze, a floating and atmospheric combination of black metal and shoegaze.

The recent album “Les Chants de l’Aurore” is Alcest’s seventh studio album: the band’s previous album, the alternative hit “Spiritual Instinct” was released in 2019.

Alcest will be supported by Svalbard & Doodseskader.
