French post black metal / black gaze trailblazer Alcest will be performing at Tuska supporting their new and amazing “Les Chants de l’Aurore” album.
Alcest started in 2000 as the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Stéphane “Neige” Paut. These days the core of the band is formed by Neige and drummer Jean “Winterhalter” Deflandre, and in a live situation, the line-up is supplemented by touring musicians.
Alcest’s musical expression has evolved from the raw black metal of the early days to the current form of stylish black gaze, a floating and atmospheric combination of black metal and shoegaze.
