Ankor from Catalonia have recently been making big waves with their refreshing take on alternative metal. The backbone of the band, guitarists David Romeu and Fito Martinez along with bass player Julio López, founded Ankor when they were mere teenagers in a small village near Barcelona. Since then, the line-up has been completed by English vocalist Jessie Williams and Greek drum prodigy Eleni Nota, and the band’s recent form has been convincing, to say the least.
Ankor’s latest singles “Prisoner” and “Darkbeat” should be considered a fair warning of things to come.
