ZEAL & ARDOR
The avant-garde metal group Zeal & Ardor got its start in a very unique way. American-Swiss musician Manuel Gagneux asked the online forum 4chan for ideas on genres he could combine. Someone suggested black metal and old American slave songs. Intended as a one-off project, Zeal & Ardor grew wings and began to live its own life. The debut album was streamed by millions and the band performed at the prestigious Roadburn festival in Holland. And that was only the start.
Zeal & Ardor is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and original artists in the music field at large today. Come summer, we all can behold this wonderfully strange bird in Suvilahti.
