TUSKA 2024: The long-awaited first festival day started in blazing Suvilahti, Helsinki
The crowd of 20 000 metal fans celebrated Tuska’s opening day in Suvilahti, Helsinki. The metal people arrived in hordes to Suvilahti as soon as the gates opened to make the most of the exceptionally fine weather and diverse program.
On the Karhu Main Stage, the audience was entertained by e.g. the electronic superstar Pendulum who headlined the day, Norwegian black metal gem Dimmu Borgir and Slayer guitarist Kerry King. On the renovated Radio City Stage and the improved Open Air II stage, top moments were offered by the Finnish classic Suburban Tribe, ultra-stylish Zeal & Ardor, Finnish metalcore pride Bloodred Hourglass, and the German core groups Ghøstkid and Annisokay to mention a few.
The indoor KVLT stage by Inferno in Tiivistämö witnessed plenty of sweaty gigs. Suotana, Assemble The Chariots, retro newcomer Krypta and many others filled the room to the brim.
We’ll be back tomorrow, the gates open at 13:00. Thank you for today!
